Your Body Remembers What Your Mind Forgets

Sometimes the body speaks in a silent language only a few know how to hear.
Hello Beautiful Soul,
Have you ever felt a persistent pain, a discomfort that doesn’t go away with medicine or rest? Maybe you’ve also experienced a deep exhaustion, like you’ve been carrying an invisible weight for years. And perhaps, like so many others, you’ve asked yourself: What is my body trying to tell me?
At Shamanic Healing Journey, we believe the body doesn’t just keep us alive, it holds the emotional memory of everything we’ve ever lived through. Wounds aren’t always visible; some ache deep within, in that sacred space where the conscious mind no longer reaches… but the body still remembers.
In that silent cry, we often find the key to profound healing.
“When the mind goes quiet, the body whispers. When we keep ignoring it, it begins to scream. Aches with no clear medical explanation may actually be soul cries, longing to be seen.”
Shamanic Healing Journey
The idea of the body as a messenger of the soul is ancient and it echoes through many healing traditions. Each part of the body is symbolically linked to emotional aspects of our life. For example, neck pain may speak of rigidity and resistance to seeing other perspectives. Lower back pain is often related to fears around survival or financial support. Digestive issues may reveal undigested emotions, like anxiety or repressed anger. Foot pain could reflect a deep fear of moving forward in some area of life.
The invitation is clear: we must listen, not silence. We can ask ourselves: What emotion have I left unattended? What part of me is longing for love and care?
When emotions are repressed, they don’t vanish. They hide in the body like tiny energy knots that, over time, may block the natural flow of our vitality. This stagnant energy can become fertile ground for chronic pain, unexplained fatigue, or illnesses with no obvious physical root.
In my shamanic healing sessions, I work to help release those trapped memories. Not through struggle, but through love. We honor the pain as a sacred portal, one that, when walked through consciously, allows vital energy to flow again and reminds us of our natural power to heal.
Ancestral medicine has always known what modern medicine is only beginning to rediscover: we are not isolated bodies. We are a dance of body, mind, spirit, emotion, lineage, and Earth. When we get sick, it’s not just the physical body that suffers. Something in our energy field, in our emotional history, or our soul is asking to be witnessed and transformed. Sometimes that pain is rooted in childhood trauma. Other times, it’s inherited from our ancestors. And occasionally, it’s memory carried over from past lifetimes.
To heal, then, is not merely to eliminate symptoms. It’s to remember our deep connection to life, to our story, and to the roots that hold us. Far too often, we learn to reject pain. We’re taught to cover it with medication, to judge it as weakness, to silence it. But what if we shifted our approach? What would happen if, instead of fighting the pain, we chose to listen to it and embrace it with compassion?
Our body does not betray us. On the contrary, it is our most loyal guardian. It is the living archive of our experiences of our joys, and our wounds.
To embrace our body with love can be as simple as:
Breathing consciously into the area of pain, sending it oxygen, light, and gratitude.
Applying gentle massage with the intention to release, not to punish.
Practicing meditations that center around loving dialogue with the affected part.
Writing a letter of recognition and forgiveness to the part of the body holding the pain.
Each of these acts is a powerful medicine. A medicine born from love, capable of opening spaces of healing that no pill could ever reach.
Healing is not a straight line. It’s not a destination where we arrive and say,
“There, now I’m perfect.”
Healing is a sacred, dynamic, and deeply personal journey.
It’s a process of remembering who we are at our core: whole beings, worthy of love, capable of transformation. And while every healing path is unique, one thing we’ve seen again and again in our practice is that the journey becomes sweeter and more powerful when it is walked together.
At Shamanic Healing Journey, we’re here to walk alongside you. Not to hand you ready-made answers, but to hold a safe space where you can discover your own truths and liberations.
Signs your body might be holding emotional wounds:
Chronic pain with no clear medical diagnosis
Recurrent issues in the same part of the body
Ongoing fatigue or tiredness without a physical cause
Physical symptoms that appear after emotional stress or conflict
Discomfort that worsens when a painful memory is recalled
Bodily tension or stiffness that lingers even during rest
If you recognize yourself in any of these signs, maybe your body is asking for a different kind of healing—one that honors your emotional story, your soul, and your deepest truth. So... what is your body trying to tell you today?
I invite you to take a pause. Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and ask your body: What are you trying to show me that I haven’t yet wanted to see? The answer may not come in words. It may arrive as a whisper, an image, a sudden emotion… but if you open yourself to listen, you’ve already taken the first powerful step toward healing.

With infinite love,
